I made a donation to Helping Others Pursue Education in memory of my mother who recently passed away. She was an educator who helped me and thousands of her students understand the value of an education. What better way to honor her than by helping children get an education who might otherwise not have that opportunity?

We are so blessed in this country that all children have the opportunity for an education. It is hard to believe that in 2020 that is not the case in other parts of the world such as Cambodia. By giving to H.O.P.E., I am personally bringing hope to children of having a brighter future through education.
- George Petersen, Branford, CT
Providing educational opportunities for these children has been extremely rewarding and has made an indelible mark on our lives.
Without support from organizations like H.O.P.E. most of these children would not have the opportunity to go to school. Education is their only avenue to a better life and they desperately want to learn and go to school. We have known children who formally scavenged garbage dumps as the only means to support their families go onto high school, college, and law school as a result of the financial support of donors.
- Joe O'Neil, Chicago, IL
It was fascinating to be a part of improving the kids lives with donations, but even more so experiencing their growth and development firsthand and via email. The privilege of being involved in the lives and education of these children yearning for a better life is a reward that keeps on giving.
Whether it is donations to a reputable organization like H.O.P.E or putting your own boots on the ground as a volunteer, I can assure you, you will be rewarded tenfold with enhancing lives of wonderful people who will be leaders in their communities one day.
- Jim Kyte, Palm Springs, CA
For the children of Cambodia education is the difference between a life of danger, hunger, poverty, and sadness to a life of success, self-worth, and fulfillment.
One of the highlights of my career is working with organizations solely focused on helping Cambodian children like H.O.P.E. I am blessed to have the opportunity to give back by supporting H.O.P.E. because they make it a priority to provide educational opportunities these children would not otherwise have.

To the world you are one person, but to one person you are the world. You can change one person’s future. I know. I have! So can you.
The premise behind supporting such causes like Helping Others to Pursue Education is to teach Cambodian children to be self-sufficient so they enrich their lives. They continue to be the hope to lift their war-ravaged country from poverty.
Education is the foundation for any hope of a future. Speaking English opens many doors for these children such as restaurants and hotels. What we take for granted, they can only dream of. Attending school is seldom an option as children are sacrificed for their families’ survival including child trafficking. Most live in horrific indigent conditions. They do not have role models or mentors. Many come from abusive situations.

Imagine being a very bright girl in rural Cambodia with no means to get more than the most basic education? Imagine having no other prospect than an early marriage, children and a life of hard work?
Working with children and later university students in Cambodia has opened my eyes to the lack of opportunities in many countries. In the developed world we tend to take education for granted, but in much of the world – and in particular for girls – it is far from certain they will get a chance to study and become educated. I love the students’ enthusiasm and gratitude for the support they get.
Supporting young people in Cambodia benefits the students and their communities, and it also enriches my life. I have been very fortunate in my life, and it feels amazing to make a difference for other women by giving them some of the opportunities that we in the developed world take for granted.

I have always valued giving back and by doing so through organizations like H.O.P.E.; I know every penny donated goes to the children and the school. Cambodia is such a poor country that a little bit of charity goes a long way.
I am so grateful I got involved. Each child we help get an education actually benefits the entire family. I know I have been able to help so many lives by assisting just one child. It is such an amazing feeling to mentor these children and know I have made a difference in this world.
